Outstanding
Sound quality did improve over the plastic pegs. Next in line is to tweak my bridge by replacing the plastic saddle with a Tusq. This should improve my sustain and tone even more. If you're looking for a budget increase of tone ... this is a way to go.

Small but noticeable improvement.
When I received them in the mail I immediately switched them out with my plastic pins. The tone sounds more full and the strings vibrate a little bit longer than they used to. It's definitely not as significant as changing out a set of strings but there is a slight improvement. Don't expect to be blown away, but do expect that these pins will provide a minimal improvement over a set of plastic pins.

the bridge sends the tone to the body not the nut.
