Ernie Ball 2808 Flatwound Bass Group IV .040 - .095
Flat chrome plated steel wire wrapped around a hex shaped tin plated steel wire. Provides a smooth feel and mellow sound.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

First time using flatwounds!
I have been playing bass since 1977 and this is the first time I have ever used flatwounds. I love the deep blues tones I can get on my Fender Jazz bass. My fingers hold up better when I play a 3 or 4 set night helping out a friend's band. Now, I use Ernie Ball strings exclusively on my Flamenco, electric and bass. I used to use Roto Sound round wounds on my basses.

Meh..
Loved flatwound for a couple weeks, they get dirty and dead fast. Stick to roundwound. If you do go flatround, use these, they were the best of the different brands I tried.
