Marcus Miller signature Fat Beams were designed for Marcus' exacting standards. Marcus Miller is a pioneer in electric bass who has worked with Miles Davis, served as a producer for "Night Music," developed an extensive resume as a producer in L.A., and has played on more than 200 records.Marcus Miller worked with DR to develop a new and improved version of one of the best stainless round wound bass strings on the market. The effort took over a year, and the result is a fatter, deeper, smoother string that satisfied Marcus Millers demanding standard. Fatter tone. Deeper sound, smoother feel and response are the qualities that separate Marcus Miller Fat-Beams from all other ordinary bass strings. New Fat-Beams are also more consistent in feel along the length of the string, as well as string to string.Gauges 40-60-80-100-120.

Great fast strings, light and easy
I do love these strings. Bright pop, punchy sound and seems to be fast and easy to play. Compared to some cheap Musicians Friend strings I tried, and promptly removed, I have also removed all doubt that string quality is just some type of placebo effect.

Amazing, FAT.
Love these strings, they are my constant go to string. They can get those big lows without too much brightness, and at the same time they retain a fat sound when playing bright/slapping. I play them on a Fender American Standard P Bass V. Amazing!
Sounds Good Depending on the Bass
I've used these on a few different basses and they seem to work better for certain types. For me, the best sound I got from these was on a Fender Jazz Bass (especially the Marcus Miller version!). I put them on a MusicMan Stingray and was very disappointed. I have also put them on a Carvin SB5000 (jazz bass style) and was disappointed. It's kind of a trial and error thing and strings are always a matter of personal preference. DR makes a high quality product and if you ever have issues, they can fix them quickly if you send them an e-mail. Amazon was awesome and shipped very quickly.
