Silent Guitar
The greatest guitar I have ever played and I have many.
If you just want to jam so no one can hear you, grab some head
phones and plug them in. Reverb is built in, and it sounds
like a studio instrument. Great for dorm or apartment where you can't
make a lot of noise. Plug in a distortion pedal and you got an electric
that sounds just as good any you've heard.Click here to read the full review for more information about this product.
Love at 1st strum
This is not for everyone; however, I guess not everyone wants a silent acoustic guitar and those that do would, like me, have a specific reason for choosing one. Unamplified there is about as much sound as playing an unplugged solid-body electric, so that's what everyone else hears. The difference is that you can plug headphones directly into this guitar and experience crystal clear, ringing steel-string acoustic sound in near-complete privacy.
Played "straight" (no effect, bass and treble set to the half-way point) the tone is neutral, but clear with good sustain. The tone controls and four effects can be used to add dimension to the sound and are well chosen. The neck is slim and very playable. (It is not the same profile as the SLG100N, which has a chunkier neck with a more classical feel and sound.) Plug it into an external amplifier and you have a fully functional single-pickup electric guitar that you can run through effects, distort, and generally subject to the full...
My favorite guitar
I've had this guitar for about 6 years now. And until I get that Martin I've been threatening to buy I'm sure this will remain my favorite.
The guitar is very, very well made. You definitely feel like you're hold a classic, quality instrument. And it sounds great.
I have to warn you, the steel strings themselves still make *some* sound. Loud enough to be heard in the next room. Although it's much better than a regular acoustic guitar with a full body. If you need absolute quiet I would recommend getting the Nylon string model ( 110N ) instead. Still I love my steel string.
Being a night-owl, it lets me play much later without the guilt of keeping up the neighbors.
