Smooth bass strings
I'm picking up where I left off decades ago with bass lessons and as much as I like the attack and tone of Rotosounds, the round-wounds were tearing up my fingies. I'd read about flat-wounds, and since
I like a mellower sound anyway, I bought a set. Wow. Easier on the fingers, less extraneous noise, coupled with a set of Lindy Fralin P-bass p'ups a very mellow sound indeed but also goes with pop/dance music (my son's
band uses the bass off and on). Try 'em.

This are great
I bought these for a Dean Acoustical Bass. They look, feel, and sound great. They have a really warm smooth feel to them and are nice for finger plucking which is why I bought them. They totally eliminated the "fret noise" that I was getting from the round-wound strings that came on the bass.
Amazing!
I bought these bad boys a month ago and man, am I blown away! Ive got a Squier Vintage Modified Fretless bass (the one that resembles Jaco's) which came with what I believe stock Fender strings. Those strings were okay, but I always felt something was missing. More along the bottom end, because the upper region was registering great tone. Once these came in, I immediately scrambled to put them on. Right out of the package, they had a great smooth feel to them. I did extensive research on these before i purchased them. People warned of its gauge size, and they were right. Upon installing them, I found that i had to sand the nut on my bass down. It was expected, and was a quick and easy fix. After stringing them up, I immediately noticed how much warmer the tone was. The upper register still sounded well, but the bottom end was booming! The feel was extremely smooth, almost like butter! Finger noise was non-existent, and considering how the string is made, bending was very, very easy...
