Buy These Strings
I play Guitar in my College's jazz band, and these are fantastic strings, the best I've ever played. They are well worth the extra 10 or so dollars. A guitar is a big investment; if you're not willing to spend a few extra bucks on better strings that will probably outlast the cheaper ones, I don't even know why you bought a guitar in the first place.
You may or may not want a heavier gauge depending on personal preference and whatever, but the .010's are super easy to play and have a great tone. In fact, my guitar now sounds better unplugged than it did when I played the old strings through an amp.
Okay, I've probably done enough drooling now, but yeah, if you're looking for a great jazzy sound, this is the way to go.

Thomasik strings
Beautiful tone to these. I use them on a Gibson Howard Roberts guitar and just love the tone they give. Good sustain. Light enough to be able to push them round a bit. Not cheap, but I think they're worth it.
