Dr’s ddt line was specifically designed to enable players to maintain stable and consistent tuning under any alternate tuning situation. Ddt strings go right into tune and lock in. Dr strings has formulated specific technologies to enhance the performance and tone with drop-down tuning strings. Dr strings believe ddt’s are the first guitar and bass string sets specifically designed to work for drop tunings. They are so stable it is almost eerie. -af
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Be careful when buying these strings
These strings sound great. They work especially well for low tunings like Drop B for example. Although they are great strings be mindful of what you are getting into. When you put on these strings you will probably have some problems with them. For one thing, they are so much thicker they may not fit into your nut. Also, the extra tension may cause your neck to bend. This can all be fixed, but it isn't exactly easy. I wouldn't recommend these unless you really need more tension in lower tunings and are relatively handy with tools, because you will probably have to make adjustments. Overall, I am satisified with the strings but annoyed at how much trouble they caused me.

Every set of Dr strings I buy breaks
.. After playing on these strings for less than a month, I broke the low e string (125)... And I wasn't even playing aggressively. I've always had issues with the Dr guitar strings breaking.. And now the bass strings... I will never purchase another Dr product again. Better off sticking with earnieball.
Finally, a solid set for down tuning!
I play in a metal band and tune down to drop C (I know, I could buy a 5-string, yada, yada, but I'm not). I've always had some problems with tension on my low string, but learned to live with it. I've been playing Ernie Ball 2831 Nickel Wound Power Slinky Bass String Set (55 - 110)(110-55) for awhile now, but I saw these and had to give them a try. I even tried the GHS H3045 Heavy Gauge Bass Boomers Bass Strings (115-50) but lost all tone; sounded pretty muddy, though the tension was better.
When I first put these strings on my first thought was, "Where have you been all my life?!" I mean, wow, what a difference. I have a good amount of tension, allowing me to play quads, the tone is full and thick, but bright at the same time. Gives a nice crunch when used with a pick. These cost a bit more than I'd like, but that's just fine...
