Since 1989, DR has been committed to crafting hand made, superb-quality instrument strings. By blending the best of old-fashioned handmade craftsmanship with cutting edge materials or string coatings, DR continues to push the boundaries of the string-making process. That obsession with quality is what has brought countless top-flight bassists and guitarists to string-up with DRs — from U2's Adam Clayton to Phish's Trey Anastasio and everywhere outside and in between. For reliable tone — acoustic or electric — you can rely on the handcrafted strings from DR.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Nice feel, excellent sound
These strings are great. I'm on my third set. I originally bought them because I heard they were long enough for my fanned fret Dingwall bass which needs longer strings to reach past the nut at the E. It turns out that these strings have excellent sound and really nice feel They sound great right out of the box and last a long time (as advertised.)
am impresses enough that I just ordered a set of the light version for my 5 string Carvin.
Be warned though. Amazon offers these exact strings with a slightly different name for $8 less.

The Best for Bass
I've been playing with the Black Beauties exclusively for about 4 years. I used Hi-beams before that (which are also great, but not quite the same caliber). I believe that DR makes the best bass strings out there. I've tried everything: Rotosound, Dean Markley, Labella, Elixir...the list goes on but none compare to the BBs. They last forever and have an awesome crisp sound that makes for good, beefy and clear lows, and pronounced singing highs. I use them on my Warwick Thumb and am a customer for life.
Black and Beautiful...
I'll start off by saying that I've been a big time DR fan for over 10 yrs and used DR's exclusively during that time. I took a chance about a year ago and decided to try the BB's and fell in love! This is the 4th set of BB's that I've ordered and they won't be my last... I really like them! They sound amazing and the feel is that of a regular non-coated string only they don't stick to your fingers like regular strings sometimes do (which is what causes blisters)... Especially if your hands sweat a lot. I am an agressive finger-style player and I absolutely love these strings! They look great, last longer than regular strings and sound just as good and better and they really make my Warwick's colors "pop" in the light. My only complaints are that a little bit of the black finish did wear off of the strings near the bridge (over the pickups) from extreme playing stresses on 2 of the 4 sets I've used. But, even with some of the finish wearing off of the string, I didn't notice any tone...
