Not what you think but still nice
These Fender nylon bass strings are not the typical nylon tape wound you would think they would be. They are actually a nylon sleeve that is heat sealed onto round wound strings. The feel is nice and they sound great but not the sound I was looking for. I recently purchased a Beatle bass copy and wanted a nice smooth mellow tone, so I put these strings on it expecting to get a a more upright bass sound, but these strings are brighter than the flat wounds I took off. I gave them 4 stars because they do feel and sound great but not the mellow tone you would get from true tape wound strings. So if your looking for a mellow smooth tone look for true nylon tape wounds.

Awesome Strings
I put these on my fretless bass and I love them. They feel real nice and smooth, have that double bass feel. Tone is like flats with added warmth and roundness. I would love to try them on a fretted bass as well.
a fretless dream string
i started playing fretless not to long ago. when i used rounds they scratched the neck and i am personaly not a fan of the darkest tone for bass. these strings give you a somewhat bright tone without tearing up your fingers and neck
